Last week I attended the Open House Festival, as part of Open City. I was able to visit Sands Ends Arts & Community Centre by Mæ Architects and hear from Nina von der Werth, the director. It was interesting to listen to the challenges and insights in the organisation and running of the building.
I also volunteered as a guide/steward at the Argentine Ambassador's Residence. Touring over 200 people around in a day and speaking on topics from the Georgian Architecture to the contemporary exhibition of Argentine artists. The exhibition titled 'Transitory Boundaries' really resonated with me as my final year project was about bringing a modern aspect into an already architecturally rich space, so seeing this be tackled in real time was fascinating.
It was a rewarding experience, meeting wonderful people and learning lots!
