Project with Weiqing Ge, during the Architecture for Heritage Course with YACademy. Tutored by Francesca Singer, SANAA, the proposal is for a network of observatory-dwellings, focused around community. Balanced between public and private, the proposal is for residents of Roccascalegna as well as providing a new tourism hotspot.
The proposal reframes how the existing heritage can be seen and enjoyed with panoramic views, from within the landscape, a previously unused area. The intervention is considerate of the location, unintrusive on current use of the fortress and church; and adaptable for future use.
Embedded within the trees the dominating skyline of the fortress is upheld, balancing the delicacy of the context with the new established proposal.
