Time spent in Vienna was centred on architectural and art exploration. The State Hall of the Austrian National Library had an exceptional frescoed dome, immense detail to be discovered for hours.
When we arrived there was also an exciting film festival taking place outside the Town Hall - showing a young orchestral group. At night Vienna lit up beautifully, the Neo-Baroque dome on the Hofburg a particular favourite. And sunset at Schönbrunn Palace perfectly complemented the yellowed exterior.
A main reason for visiting Vienna was to see the Klimt-Collection at the Belvedere Palace. Both The Kiss and Klimt's unfinished painting, The Bride were remarkable.
